Which drugs, medical procedures and equipment should be funded?
All health systems must grapple with how best to allocate their limited budgets across the many thousands of health ‘technologies’ – drugs, medical procedures, equipment, etc – that are available.
This article reports on research into developing and pilot-testing a methodology for involving ordinary ‘every-day’ people in making decisions about which drugs, procedures, equipment, etc to fund and make available (and which ones not to!).
